History of The Castle

It was established by the Czech king and Roman emperor Charles IV as a place to store the royal treasures, collections of holy relics and the crown jewels. How to Reach Prague to Karlštejn Castle

To reach Karlštejn Castle from Prague, you can take a train from Prague Main Station (Praha hlavní nádraží) to Beroun, and then take a bus or a train to Karlštejn. The train ride takes around 30-40 minutes and the bus ride takes around 20-25 minutes. Another option is to take a bus directly from Prague’s Florenc Bus Station to Karlštejn, the trip takes around 45 minutes.
