Solo Photoshoot Tour in Prague

You came all this way. There should be proof you were here that is better than a selfie in front of the clock. A solo session is one photographer, one person and an hour or two in the most photogenic city in Europe, with no awkwardness and nobody else in the frame.

Choose your session

Five lengths, one photographer, all of them private. The right one depends on how many places you want in the gallery and whether you plan to change outfits. Prices are in Czech crowns and include editing and delivery; there is nothing to add at checkout.

When would you like to shoot?

Optional, but it saves a round of emails: pick your preferred day and the time of day, and it travels with your booking. I confirm the exact hour and meeting point within 24 hours.

Sunrise and golden-hour slots are the first to go. If your date is busy, I suggest the nearest alternative before you pay anything.

How it works

1Pick a length and a dateBook online in two minutes. I confirm the time and suggest a meeting point that fits the light on your date.
2Tell me the moodLandmarks or quiet lanes, editorial or relaxed, a specific outfit or occasion. I plan the route around it.
3Walk, talk, be photographedI guide every frame. You look at Prague; I handle the rest. The gallery lands in your inbox within days.

Where we shoot

Prague is compact enough that one session can cover several completely different backdrops. These are the ones I use most for solo work, each with its own guide.

Ideas for your solo session

The same hour looks completely different depending on the month and on what you need the photos for. Four directions I shoot most often, with real frames from real sessions.

December to February

Winter photoshoot: solo ideas

Snow is never guaranteed in Prague, but winter light is: low, soft and gone by four in the afternoon. The city is at its emptiest from January to early March, so the Charles Bridge frames that need a six o’clock alarm in summer can happen at ten. A coat with texture, whether fur, wool or a camel trench, photographs far better than a puffer jacket, and a beret or one red accent gives the snow something to answer. From late November until the first days of January the tree on Old Town Square adds a second backdrop a minute’s walk from the first; my Christmas market photoshoot guide covers the timing.

Autumn Prague photoshoot: the Botanical Garden

The best autumn colours in Prague

The Botanical Garden in Troja has the richest autumn colour in the city and almost nobody photographs there: Japanese maples, a vineyard slope with Prague below it, and stone steps that disappear under leaves for about three weeks a year. Peak colour usually falls in the second half of October, and the garden is a short bus ride from the centre. There is an entrance ticket, which I mention so it is not a surprise.

For the classic autumn frames in the centre, the autumn locations guide lists the parks and the weeks that work.

Headshots, LinkedIn, founder portraits

Professional business and entrepreneur photoshoot

A business portrait does not need a studio. A café courtyard, a laptop and a coffee say “this is how I work” more convincingly than a grey backdrop, and a brick wall in open shade gives the clean headshot for the profile picture. One hour usually covers three sets: a tight headshot, a working-at-the-table series and a walking series in the street, so the same session feeds the website, LinkedIn and the press kit. Bring two tops, one plain and one with colour. The full brief is on the headshot and personal branding page.

Branding with a point of view

Concrete, hard light, black and white: a different Prague.
When the café look is wrong

Personal branding is a portrait with an opinion. A tattoo artist, a trainer, a musician or a chef needs something with more edge than a courtyard and a coffee, and Prague has that too: raw concrete under the bridges, the industrial yards of Holešovice, hard light on plaster walls. We talk first about where the photos will live, whether a website, an album cover or the wall of a studio, and build the look around that.

See the lifestyle and portrait page for more of this side of the work.

Questions before you book

I have never been photographed on my own. Will it be awkward?

For about four minutes, then it stops. I direct every frame with small, specific instructions, so you are never left wondering what to do with your hands. Most people tell me the first ten minutes felt strange and the rest felt like a walk with a friend who happens to carry a camera.

What should I wear?

Solid colours and texture photograph best against Prague’s ochre and stone; busy patterns and logos compete with the city. Bring a second outfit for the two-hour sessions and longer. My season-by-season wardrobe guide has the specifics, including shoes for cobblestones.

Can a friend or partner come along?

Of course, and they are welcome in a few frames. If you want a proper session for two, the couple sessions are built for that and priced accordingly.

How many photos do I get, and when?

Roughly sixty to a hundred edited photographs per hour of shooting, chosen and finished by me, delivered in a private online gallery within days. An express option exists if you are flying out sooner.

What happens if it rains?

We move the time or the day at no cost. If the rain is light we often shoot anyway: wet cobblestones and arcades give some of the best frames of the year.
